Creative Tools
- Connect up to 32 analogue sources and destinations through the primary DB25 input and output banks, making Horizon 32 suitable for large outboard racks, external microphone preamps, studio consoles and patchbay-based systems.
- Integrate analogue compressors, equalisers and effects into DAW sessions using the extensive line-level connectivity and software routing matrix.
- Send individual tracks or stems to an analogue console or summing system, then capture the finished stereo mix through the dedicated mix-bus inputs without occupying the 32 primary input channels.
- Monitor through the dedicated stereo output path with 133 dB A-weighted dynamic range, supporting detailed evaluation of balance, imaging, transients and low-level information.
- Record and process audio at sample rates up to 192 kHz using high-performance 32-bit AD/DA conversion for transparent transfer between analogue equipment and a digital workstation.
- Track through compatible native DAW plug-ins with round-trip latency as low as 0.99 ms at 192 kHz and a 64-sample buffer, subject to the computer, software and session workload.
- Expand the system with external digital preamps and converters through the two optical ADAT input and output banks, with available channel counts adapting to the selected sample rate.
- Match converter headroom to connected analogue equipment using selectable +18 dBu and +24 dBu reference levels.
- Combine live inputs and computer playback in Horizon Control to create monitoring balances and independent mixes while maintaining clear channel naming and routing.
- Configure custom speaker layouts and monitor profiles, then use mono, polarity, dim and reference-level functions to make informed listening decisions.
- Check signal levels across the analogue banks using the Motion UI hardware display and the extensive metering available in Horizon Control.
- Daisy-chain up to four Horizon interfaces through Thunderbolt for larger installations, using BNC Word Clock connections to synchronise the expanded system.
- Install the interface directly in a studio rack using its compact 1U format, with fanless cooling providing silent operation in recording and control rooms.
