Creative Tools

  • Record two microphones, instruments or performers simultaneously through independent preamps with up to 60 dB of digitally controlled gain.
  • Combine Warmth, Focus or Shine preamp character with one of six Max compressor presets to create more than 18 recording tones directly at the input.
  • Use Warmth for tube-inspired body, Focus for controlled solid-state punch or Shine for an open British Class-A-inspired top end.
  • Apply Max Processing while recording to control dynamics and add the character of classic FET, optical and VCA compressors without opening a software plug-in.
  • Select source-specific compression settings for vocals, acoustic instruments, electric guitar and bass using simple hardware controls.
  • Use Auto-Gain to establish suitable recording levels, then enable Clip Protection to guard against unexpected peaks.
  • Monitor input levels, settings and compressor gain reduction through the full-colour Smart Display.
  • Expand the interface with an ADAT-equipped preamp or converter to record up to ten microphone or line sources at standard sample rates.
  • Switch the optical input to SPDIF mode for compatible digital instruments, preamps, media players and converters.
  • Connect two pairs of headphones simultaneously during collaborative recording, with both listeners receiving the same cue mix.
  • Communicate with performers through the built-in talkback microphone without entering the recording space.
  • Connect MIDI keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines and controllers through the TRS MIDI input and output.
  • Connect and power a compatible USB MIDI controller through the integrated USB-C hub.
  • Blend microphones and instruments with computer audio through loopback for podcasts, livestreams, gameplay and remote interviews.
  • Create low-latency cue mixes and recall interface settings through UAD Console and integrated LUNA sessions.
